Once a year for each piece of equipment — heating before the cold arrives, cooling before the first hot week. A tune-up is mostly about catching the small thing before it becomes the no-heat call in January. Our Comfort Advantage Plan bundles the annual tune-up with priority scheduling.
A well-maintained furnace generally runs 15 to 20 years and an air conditioner 12 to 15. Age alone isn’t the decider, though — how it was installed, how hard it has worked and whether it has been serviced matter more than the date on the label.

No. Ductless mini splits cool and heat without any ductwork at all, which makes them a good fit for older Buffalo homes, additions, attic conversions and garages. If you already have ducts in good condition, a conventional system is usually the cheaper route.
